WASHINGTON HEIGHTS — An 11-year-old boy who went missing from a Washington Heights playground Thursday night is now home with his family, sources said.

Adel Pjetrovic was discovered at a friend’s house in the Bronx on Friday, July 13, according to his family and a spokeswoman from State Sen. Adriano Espaillat’s office, who was helping with the search effort.

Pjetrovic’s older sister said they were playing in the playground at P.S. 173 at 306 Fort Washington Ave. near West 174th Street, just after 10 p.m., when he left unannounced to visit a friend’s home in the Bronx for a sleepover.

His family tracked him down to that friend's house the following day, relatives said.

“He is home with us and is fine,” his 13-year-old sister told DNAinfo.com New York.

Police from the 33rd Precinct did not immediately return calls for comment.
