Sunbathers Strip Down to Beat the Heat During Big Apple Heat Wave

NEW YORK CITY — With another heat wave scorching the city this week, New Yorkers are sweating through temperatures that will feel like they hit the triple digits.

A heat advisory issued Monday by the National Weather Service warned of sweltering temperatures that will feel like the upper 90s on Tuesday, followed by highs that will feel like 100 to 104 degrees Wednesday.

High humidity will make the Big Apple even more unbearable during the heat wave, which began Monday with a high of 91 degrees, according to AccuWeather.

On Monday, sunbathers stripped down on Central Park's Great Lawn to soak up some rays, while others hit local pools and sprinklers too cool down during the summer swelter.

The heat advisory cautioned New Yorkers to reschedule strenuous activitities for the morning or evening, and take extra precautions if they work outdoors.
