Person Rescued in the Water Off Coney Island

BROOKLYN — Firefighters rescued a person in the water off of Coney Island's busy boardwalk Monday, officials said.

The incident occurred shortly before 3 p.m. near West 16th Street and the Riegelmann Boardwalk.

The victim, whose identity and condition were not immediately known, was rushed to Coney Island Hospital, the FDNY said.
