Firefighters Battle Early-Morning Blaze at Staten Island Home

STATEN ISLAND — Dozens of firefighters responded to an early-morning blaze at a house in Dongan Hills, the FDNY said.

About 75 firefighters rushed to 1179 Mason Avenue shortly after 4 a.m., the department said.

They battled flames on the first floor and the cockloft, officials said.

The fire was brought under control about an hour later after it started, officials said.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
