UPPER WEST SIDE — A body was found hanging from a tree in Riverside Park between 115th and 116th Street Sunday evening, according to the NYPD.

NYPD said the man's death was being investigated as a suicide and that no criminality was suspected. Police have not yet released the identity of the man.

Police told the Columbia University blog Bwog.com that a passerby noticed the body hanging and called the police around 7:45 p.m.

The man was believed to be in his 30s and is unaffiliated with Columbia University, Bwog reported. The university did not immediately respond to calls for comment.
