MANHATTAN — Notorious hot head actor Alec Baldwin cooled down long enough to marry his yoga instructor girlfriend Hilaria Thomas on Saturday at the Basilica of St. Patrick's Old Cathedral on Mulberry Street.
Baldwin's "30 Rock" co-star Tina Fey, movie director Woody Allen and his wife Soon-Yi Previn, as well as Baldwin's actor brothers, Billy and Stephen Baldwin, were reportedly among the wedding's many celebrity attendees. Baldwin's teenage daughter with ex-wife Kim Basinger, Ireland Baldwin, was also present for the ceremony.
The couple reportedly said "I do" surrounded by white lillies and hydrangeas in a ceremony officiated by Rev. George Deas. The bride wore a silk magnolia Amsale gown with cap sleeves and crystal buttons, while Baldwin chose a Tom Ford suit, according to multiple reports.
Known for his on-screen comic skills on "30 Rock," Baldwin has suffered several off-screen blows lately, including a dust-up with a news photographer and a run-in with a stalker.
Baldwin's Twitter feed was dripping with lovey-dovey messages on his wedding day. He quoted lines from Emily Dickinson's poem "Resurrection," including, "These fleshless lovers met; A heaven in a gaze; A heaven of heavens, the privilege; Of one another's eyes."
But it didn't take long for the infamously short-tempered Baldwin to revert to his raging ways as he lambasted the media through his Twitter feed. "If US magazine folded on Monday, would you care? Really? #tabloidmagazinesshouldberegulated," Baldwin tweeted on Sunday.
Already a supportive wife, Thomas joined her husband's media-bashing spree, tweeting, "The paparazzi are abusing the first amendment. It's high time that we update & clarify it as technology has progressed & values have changed."
The newlyweds also posted photos of their wedding ring, with Thomas sporting a sizeable diamond and Baldwin a simple gold ring.
Baldwin has two films in theaters now, the comic rock saga "Rock of Ages" and Allen's latest romantic comedy, "To Rome with Love."
Thomas is a graduate of New York University and currently teaches yoga with Yoga Vida. Baldwin, 54, met his 28-year-old bride in February 2011 at Pure Food and Wine, a restaurant in New York, according to the couple's wedding announcement in the New York Times.
