MANHATTAN — The celebrity hot spot that became a glass-strewn battleground earlier this month after a dustup between the singers Chris Brown and Drake lost its liquor license Tuesday.

After the State Liquor Authority hit the Hudson Square nightclubs WIP and Greenhouse with 14 violations for disorder, noise and drug use last Friday, the agency voted Tuesday to suspend the clubs' liquor license, according to a statement.

The emergency suspension follows the June 14 melee at the 34 Vandam St. club plus 10 separate previous fights in the past three months.

"The SLA will not tolerate violent bars that break the law," SLA chairman Dennis Rosen said in the statement. "This should serve as a message that this agency will not hesitate to take immediate action when licensees pose a threat to public health and safety."

The singer Chris Brown reportedly left a Hudson Square nightclub June 14, 2012 with a gash in his chin from a bar fight.

A representative for the clubs declined to comment on the decision.

The SLA initially gave the clubs until July 11 to respond to the state's charges but voted Tuesday to immediately revoke their license because of their "disciplinary history," the statement said.

Bottle-throwing mayhem at WIP, which is located beneath its sister club Greenhouse, began after Drake allegedly sent a note to Brown that read, "I'm still f---ing Rihanna," sources told DNAinfo.com New York.

Seven clubgoers have said they were hit by flying glass or trampled in the panic on the way out of the club. NBA star Tony Parker is suing the clubs for $20 million and said he "almost lost" use of his left eye after being hit. Several other people who were hurt have also said they plan to sue.

Police closed the clubs June 16 for unspecified violations after the Chris Brown-Drake fight, a move their owners claim has made them the scapegoats for their customers' bad behavior.
