BROOKLYN — Firefighters rescued two men found floating in the waters off Coney Island Friday morning, the FDNY said.

Shortly before 7:20 a.m., firefighters received a report that two men were drowning in the Lower Bay near Riegelmann Boardwalk and West 19th Street, a fire spokesman said.

A private boat pulled one of the men on board, then transferred him to an FDNY boat, the spokesman stated. The second man was brought ashore. Both were rushed to Coney Island Hospital.

It was unclear how the men ended up in the water. One went into cardiac arrest, but was resuscitated and listed in critical condition, the FDNY said. The second was in stable but serious condition.

Neither man's identity has been released.
