Rapper Meek Mill Says Drake, Chris Brown Didn't Throw Bottles in Club Brawl

MANHATTAN — Singers Chris Brown and Drake did not take part in a wild nightclub battle that allegedly sprayed revellers with broken glass, a rapper who claims to have been at the club said.

Philadelphia-based rapper Meek Mill, who is signed to Jay-Z's record label Roc Nation, told the hip-hop magazine XXL that neither Brown nor Drake threw any bottles early Thursday morning at the Hudson Square club WIP.

"Chris and Drake, them two was there but it's other people that be around that take s--t to the next level," said Mill, 25, who was born Robert Williams.

"Things just happen in the club. I seen girls in there throwing bottles, all types of s--t. All types of people. I never seen Chris Brown or Drake throw a bottle and I was there," said Mill, who did not immediately return a request for comment from DNAinfo.com New York.

Heavy champagne bottles flew at the 34 Vandam St. club after Drake allegedly sent a note to Brown that read "I'm still f---ing Rihanna," sources told DNAinfo.com New York.

The brawl allegedly injured several people, including Brown who was cut on the chin, a 21-year-old model and NBA star Tony Parker, who was reportedly hit in the eye with glass.

Police closed WIP Saturday for unspecified violations, and manager Jonathan Cantor was arrested Friday for violations related to the fire code and the control of alcoholic beverages.

No one else has been arrested in connection to the melee, police said.
