MANHATTAN — A runaway taxicab hit a pregnant woman near Union Square Sunday evening after the driver hopped out of the car to chase a farebeater, according to the New York Post.

Anna Wasilewski was struck at 6:30 p.m. Sunday by the slowly rolling cab, the Post reported. Driver Sam Kizy reportedly left his cab in gear after he hopped out to chase a fare who had attempted to run off without paying.

"I heard people screaming, and as I turned around it hit me from behind," Wasilewski told the Post. Neither she nor the unborn child were hurt, according to the Post.
