MURRAY HILL — A northbound lane of the Park Avenue tunnel between East 34th and East 39th streets will be closed overnight beginning Monday, the New York City Department of Transportation announced in a notice sent to community members.

The lane closures are necessary to perform construction work on the tunnel, including concrete removal and installation of wire mesh.

One northbound lane of the tunnel will be closed on both Monday, June 4, and Tuesday, June 5, between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., the DOT said.

A northbound lane will also be closed on Monday, June 11, between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.

The DOT said the repairs are weather sensitive, and the closures could extend beyond those dates if rain delays the project.

Throughout the construction, two service road lanes running in each direction will remain open, the DOT said.
