QUEENS — A motorcyclist died Thursday morning after being rear-ended by a minivan in Jackson Heights, officials said.

The 27-year-old man, whose identity has not been released, was riding eastbound on Astoria Boulevard, near 90th Street, when he abruptly switched lanes and came to a stop at approximately 6:45 a.m., police said.

That's when a Dodge minivan crashed into the motorcycle, police said.

The motorcyclist was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead, police and the FDNY said.

The driver of the minivan, a man whose name was not released, remained at the scene, police said, and was not suspected of committing a crime.
