MILL BASIN — A man was rescued from the waters of the Mill Basin Inlet on Strickland Avenue and National Drive at about 7:15 a.m. on Monday morning, according to a witness and city officials.

The FDNY responded to a 911 call shortly after 7 a.m., where they found a man struggling in the water, fire press confirmed Monday.

The man had cuts on his arms when he was removed from the water by the fire department, according to FDNY. It was unclear how he ended up in the water, a Fire Department spokesman said.

He was brought by ambulance to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center at One Brookdale Plaza for treatment, FDNY press confirmed.

A woman at the Sunrise Assisted Living establishment, which is right at the waters edge, said she heard the man yelling for help.
