MANHATTAN — Actor Michael McKean was struck by a car while walking on the Upper West Side Tuesday afternoon.

McKean, best known for his roles in mockumentary films like "This is Spinal Tap" and "Best in Show," was hit by a car near the corner of Broadway and West 86th Street, a source said.

The 64-year-old actor was among three people rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital.

McKean's manager, Harriet Sternberg, said the actor's leg was broken in the accident and that she was still waiting to hear the full extent of his injuries.

"He'll be fine, hopefully," Sternberg said.

McKean, who lives on the Upper West Side, is currently starring on Broadway in Gore Vidal’s "The Best Man" at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre on West 45th Street.

A performance was scheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening, but McKean was unable to attend, Sternberg said.

"Tonight will be the first time in the entire history of his very long career that he’s ever missed a show," she added. "I know he was really proud that [record]."

Edward Hernendez, 26, who works at a dry cleaner near Broadway and West 86th Street, said he ran outside after he heard the accident and saw McKean being strapped into a stretcher — although he did not know at the time that the man hit was a famous actor.

"The guy was on the floor, and bleeding," Hernendez said.

Manny Reyes, 34, who works as a doorman at a nearby apartment building, said he often sees cars running red lights at the intersection of Broadway and West 86th Street.

"That’s a horrible corner, a very dangerous corner," he said. "Believe me, this happens every week."
