BROOKLYN — A hit-and-run driver killed a 33-year-old Brooklyn man in Dyker Heights Monday night, police said.
Amjad Barakat of Sheepshead Bay, was struck and killed by a car shortly before 9 p.m. as he crossed 72nd Street at Seventh Avenue, according to the NYPD.
He sustained severe head trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The vehicle, which was traveling south on Seventh Avenue when it hit Barakat, fled in an known direction, authorities said. Witnesses described the car as a beige four-door sedan.
An investigation is ongoing.
