SOHO — Relatives of a construction worker killed in a fall from a Broome Street building last week have scheduled a wake to say their final goodbyes before sending his body to his native Mexico.

Adrian Zamora, 28, died on May 17 when he took a 30-foot plunge onto a construction shed at 450 Broome St., officials said. A Department of Buildings investigation found that Zamora wasn't wearing a harness, hadn't take a mandatory 30-hour training class, and that the company he worked for, Brasal Construction Company, didn't maintain a safe environment.

A stop work order was issued at the site. The order was still in effect, a DOB spokeswoman said Monday.

Zamora, who is survived by his wife and two young daughters, was remembered last week as a loving family man who spent endless hours at construction sites to provide for his loved ones.

A wake for Zamora is scheduled for Thursday at R G Ortiz Funeral Home at 5202 Fourth Ave. in Sunset Park, his father said Monday.

"We're still hurting," said Simeon Zamora, Adrian's father. "But we're trying to honor him."

His body will be flown to his native Mexico early Friday.

Last week, the Consulate General of Mexico said it would cover those costs and offer independent consulting attorneys to offer legal action on behalf of Zamora's children.
