CHELSEA — Police are looking for a suspect who shoved a 90-year-old woman to the ground and stole her necklace in broad daylight, after pretending to be a good samaritan.

The NYPD released a video of the suspect, who is described as being a male in his 20s, and approximately 5-foot-11.  He was last seen wearing a black and yellow jacket.

The mugging took place at 11:30 a.m., on Wednesday, May 9.

The victim, who is 90, was walking in the vicinity of West 16th Street near Sixth Avenue when the suspect approached her, offering his help, police said.

According to police, the suspect said he would help the woman find a bus. Instead, he pushed the woman to the ground, and removed her necklace. He then fled the scene.

The woman was taken to Beth Israel Hospital, and treated for minor injuries to her knees, hands, and neck.

That mugging was the first of two violent attacks on senior citizens Wednesday.

The second attack took place on Saratoga Avenue, in Brownsville, Brooklyn.

Police are still also searching for a man who punched and robbed an 88-year-old woman as she entered her building. That suspect allegedly followed the woman, and just before 8 p.m., punched her in the head, and then grabbed her pocketbook and fled, police said. (The vicitm was in stable condition Wednesday night.)

Police described the suspect being in his 20s and standing about 6 feet tall. He was wearing a blue coat, black cap, dark pants with white stripes down the sides and black sneakers with white stripes.
