Contstruction Worker Injured in Partial Collapse on Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND — A construction worker was injured at a site in Eltingville when a piece of a wall collapsed Thursday, officials said.

The worker did not appear to be seriously injured in the partial collapse about noon, the FDNY said.

The piece of the wall came down on him at a construction site at 4517 Hylan Blvd., a FDNY spokesman said.

The worker, who was not identified, was rushed to Staten Island North Hospital, the spokesman.

His condition was unknown, but officials said he was unconscious and the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
