THE BRONX - ASPCA agents arrested a Bronx woman Friday for starving her two 7-month-old pit bulls, the agency announced.

Gillian Irving, 27, of Webster Avenue in Norwood, allegedly neglected the puppies, Cagney and Lacey, who weighed just 16.4 and 15.2 pounds respectively when agents seized them in February, authorities said.

Irving relinquished the dogs after a visit from ASPCA agents who were responding to a complaint about two skinny and neglected dogs, the agency said.

The dogs have been recovering at the ASPCA's Bergh Memorial Animal Hospital and each has put on more than 10 pounds, the agency said.

When they have fully recovered, Cagey and Lacey will be put up for adoption, the ASPCA said.
