Cop Arrested for Assaulting Girlfriend, Police Say

QUEENS — An off-duty cop was nabbed Saturday night for assaulting his girlfriend at his Rego Park home, police said.

Alexandru Baiasu, 27, allegedly got into a fight with the victim just before 11 p.m. at his home, the address of which was not disclosed.

Baiasu, who is assigned to the police academy, was charged with assault and harassment, police said.

The victim suffered injuries to her face.
