Amar'e Stoudemire Out Indefinitely with Back Injury

MANHATTAN — Amar'e Stoudemire will be out of the Knicks' lineup indefinitely after an MRI found a bulging disk in his back, the team tweeted Monday afternoon.

The news came as New York was set to take the court against the Milwaukee Bucks, who's on their heels fighting for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.  Jeremy Lin will also miss the game with a knee injury.

"I'm anxious to see how guys will step up and play," Knicks coach Mike Woodson said in a tweet from the team

Guards Baron Davis and Iman Shumpert were inserted into the starting lineup in Stoudemire and Lin's absence.

"We'll need Shumpert's energy to start the game," Woodson said in another tweet. "That's why I'm throwing him into the lineup."
