QUEENS — An off-duty corrections officer was reportedly shot by her ex-boyfriend Monday night outside a diner in Rosedale, authorities said.

The 28-year-old Rikers Island officer was struck once in the torso shortly before 11 p.m. near the USA Diner at Merrick Boulevard and 243rd Street, according to police and the New York Post.

She was taken to Jamaica Hospital, cops added. A spokeswoman for the Department of Correction said she underwent surgery there.

The officer was recovering and in stable condition, the spokeswoman said.

The victim was reportedly hit by the gunfire while sitting inside a car outside the diner.

The officer, who worked the morning Monday plus overtime, has been with the Department of Correction since August 2011. She is assigned to the Anna M. Kross Center on Rikers Island, the department spokeswoman said.
