EAST HARLEM — An East Harlem bodega worker and father of two was stabbed to death by another man after a fight in the store where the victim worked Tuesday morning, police said.

Kendall Greene, 30, of The Bronx, was stabbed four times in the fracas outside Lexington Grocery Corp at 1869 Lexington Ave., near East 116th Street, at 5:21 a.m., sources said.

He was taken to Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police added.

"He was quiet, a nice guy," said a man who identified himself as a friend but refused to give his name. "

Greene had a 1-year-old son and baby daughter, according to another friend, Devorn Parker, 24, and worked overnight shifts to support his family.

Nabil Fawzi, 20, is led from the 25th Precinct stationhouse in East Harlem on March 20, 2012. He was charged with killing Kendall Greene.

"He was trying to support his kids," Parker said.

Hours later, police arrested Nabil Fawzi, 20, of East Harlem, and charged him with murder.

Sources said that Greene and the suspect got into an argument inside the store. Afterward, he escorted Fawzi out and a fight ensued, leaving the suspect with an injury to his lip.

According to the sources, Fawzi, who has a prior arrest for trespassing, left the scene and came back with a knife and stabbed the victim four times.

A trail of blood could be seen inside the store Tuesday morning.

Police requested the store’s surveillance footage, the staffer said.
