BROOKLYN — A gunman with a rap sheet was nabbed for murdering another man in a Fort Greene housing project last week, police said.

Darren Prince, 25, was also charged with criminal use of a firearm in connection with the bloodshed at the Whitman Houses on Carlton Avenue.

Police said that Prince shot the 20-year-old victim, Justin Cherry, once in the chest in front of 86 Carlton Ave. on March 5 at 9:20 p.m. after a fight.

After 911 was call, rescuers discovered the victim on the third floor of 84 Carlton Ave.

He was rushed to Brooklyn Hospital where he died.

Sources said that the dispute appeared to be drug-related.

Prince, who sources said had drug-related arrests, surrendered to police last Saturday.
