HARLEM — Two people were shot Monday in front of a bodega at West 129th Street, fire officials said.

The gunfire erupted just after 8 a.m. in front of the Kings Deli bodega on Frederick Douglass Boulevard, an FDNY spokesman said.

"I heard four shots," said manager Ali Elhej, 41. "Then everyone ran to the shore. I lied down on the floor."

Elhej said the gun, judging by the sound of the blast, sounded like a low-caliber weapon.

"It sounded like a toy," he said.

One of the victims was shot in the right leg, officials said. His injury did not appear to be life-threatening, fire officials said.

It was unclear where the second victim was shot, the spokesman said. His condition was not known, either, he said.

Both victims, who were not identified, were taken to Harlem Hospital, the FDNY said.

The NYPD did not have any information about the shooting.
