MANHATTAN — Spin fanatics on the Upper East Side are gearing up for SoulCycle’s expansion.

The spin studio with a rabid following of fashionable, sweat-loving exercise bike enthusiasts is planning to more than double the space of its location at 1470 Third Ave., between East 83 and 84 streets.

The expansion, expected to be completed by Memorial Day, will transform the existing 1,480- square-foot space, which opened in 2009 with one 42-bike studio, into 3,425 square feet with two new studios.

One will have 70 bikes and the other 30 bikes. Like the TriBeCa flagship studio, this location will soon have showers, spokeswoman Gabby Cohen said.

SoulCycle, which has four Manhattan locations that all see waitlists, conducts its classes to high-energy music by candlelight to create “a cardio sanctuary,” according to the company's website.

The Third Avenue spot is the first of the branches to undergo an expansion.

"It's our only East Side location, so it serves a huge market," Cohen said.

"Riders from upper Manhattan and down to Midtown East frequent that location. In addition, the Upper East Side is heavily populated with residential buildings and is home to many of our riders."
