QUEENS — An SUV slammed into a St. Albans Chinese food restaurant and a check-cashing business Thursday afternoon, injuring three people, FDNY officials said.

The Ford Edge SUV smashed into the wall of a building, between the entrances of Lucky Star restaurant and Sunrise Check Cashing at 1:10 p.m., officials said.

The impact severely damaged the building, knocking the restaurant's exterior wall inward several feet and shattering the glass door of the check-cashing store.

The SUV hit a column that divides the two stores in the shopping strip at Linden Boulevard and Francis Lewis Boulevard. The column was pushed askew nearly 2 feet, a witness said.

Two people were seriously injured, one of whom was an elderly woman, and one person sustained minor injuries, FDNY officials said.
