MANHATTAN — Six people were seriously injured in a two-car drunk driving wreck in East Harlem Sunday morning, authorities said.

Police arrested Rousell Martinez, 31, of The Bronx after the crash, which unfolded at 130th Street and Madison Avenue at 5:15 a.m., and charged him with DWI.

According to cops, a Hyundai traveling north on Madison Avenue blew through a red light and smashed into the Chrysler Pacifica driven by Martinez, which was traveling East on 130th Street.

"I heard noises around 5:30am," said Richard Dawson, 16, who was staying at his grandmother's house nearby the scene. "My grandma called the fire department right away."

Outside, he saw a dark-colored car "with smoke coming out of the hood," he said.

"I hope they got out OK."

The driver of the Hyundai was not charged, police said.

Six people were taken with non-life threatening injuries to Harlem, Lincoln and St. Luke's hospitals.
