MANHATTAN — After taking a short hiatus to care for his ailing mother, funnyman Stephen Colbert will resume taping his "Colbert Report" again on Monday, according to a published report.

Taping for the show, at studios on West 54th Street, was suspended Wednesday for unexplained reasons and Comedy Central showed repeats on Wednesday and Thursday night.

Colbert took the break to care for his 91-year-old mother Lorna, who is ill, the Associated Press said.

He will reportedly address the absence Monday.
