By Andrea Swalec | February 17, 2012 10:57am

MANHATTAN — Police are hunting three young men who robbed a Greenwich Village clock and watch shop at knifepoint and maced an employee in broad daylight Thursday.

The three suspects entered Time Pieces at 115 Greenwich Ave. at Jane Street about 4:30 p.m., police said. They flashed a knife and sprayed mace at a worker in the shop, which sells and repairs antique watches and clocks.

The men then removed an unknown amount of merchandise from display cases before fleeing. Their images were caught on security cameras running.

The victim was not injured in the robbery, police said.

Polish sisters Grace Szuwala, 51, and Annie Szuwala, 46, have owned the shop since 1984, according to a November 2011 profile of Time Pieces by WNYC Radio.

Time Pieces did not immediately respond to inquiries about the robbery.

Police describe the first suspect as between 21 and 25 years old and 5-feet-10 with a medium build. The second suspect is about 20 years old and 5-feet-10 with a thin build. The third young man is 19 to 23 years old and 5-feet-8 with a thin build, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577 TIPS (8477). The public can also submit tips by logging onto Crime Stoppers' website at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com or by texting CRIMES (274637) and then entering TIP577.
