QUEENS — An Astoria man charged with bludgeoning his wife to death left a blood stained note confessing to the murder, according to a criminal complaint filed at his arraignment on Wednesday.

Jordan Hawes, 32, allegedly fled the city after beating Tara Hawes, 33, to death with a baseball bat inside their 30th Street, Astoria, apartment.  He was found in Connecticut and brought back to Queens to face charges.

But before he left the city, he apparently tried to pawn his dead wife's wedding band and he left the note in which he admits his guilt, court documents show.

"My life has been great most of the time," the note said.

"I was raised perfectly by my mom and dad, and I have learned so from much my child."

"I don't know what the f**k happened but my life is destroyed."

The wife's body was found beaten, bloodied and naked from the waist down on Feb. 2, 2012.

Hawes left the city in his wife's 2008 Jeep, but was tracked to Interstate 95 near Bridgeport.

"I did someting wrong. I surrender myself," he allegedly told police.

He faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted and is next due back in court on Feb. 29.
