'Lin-Sanity' Continues as Jeremy Lin Lifts Knicks in Last-Second Win

By Sonja Sharp | February 15, 2012 8:05am

Linsanity continued to sweep New York as the newly emerged Knicks superstar secured a last gasp victory over the Toronto Raptors Tuesday.

As the rise of star point-guard Jeremy Lin dominated basektball, the hashtag #linsanity took over the internet.

It's expected to get even hotter Wednesday as the Knicks face Sacramento Kings on home turf at Madison Square Garden.

New York will be angling for their seventh straight win.

"I used to watch the #knicks with my family back in the days of Ewing, Starks, etc. #linsanity has rejuvenated my enthusiasm," fan  posted on Twitter Wednesday.

But the catchy moniker, used to describe everything from Lin's breakout performance on the court to the media firestorm surrounding his sudden rise to fame, could soon be at the center of a trademark war, Bloomberg News reported.

Two California men have attempted to trademark the name, aka Beyonce and Jay-Z's recently trademarked baby moniker, Blue Ivy Carter.

Though neither of them seems likely to secure it, the move highlights how strongly fans feel about their unlikely hero, whose jersey has been the NBA's top online seller since his hot streak started on Feb. 4.

"It's like @JLin7 was sent here from another planet to help save the NBA," Mets blogger  posted Wednesday.
