DITMAS PARK — An elderly man was tragically killed Tuesday evening after being struck by two separate cars, including one driven by a person who fled the scene.

Jean Jeanniot, 71, was left lying in the middle of Flatbush Avenue, at East 26th Street, after he was run over while trying to cross the intersection about 6:10 p.m., the NYPD said. The driver of the unidentified vehicle fled the scene, police said.

Moments laters, Jeanniot was hit by another car, identified by police as a Buick. The driver of that car stayed on the scene.

Jeannoit was rushed to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police were still trying to identify the first vehicle after failing to find any witnesses or surveillance footage. The driver of the Buick was not charged.

Investigators had not yet determined whether Jeanniot died after the impact of the first or second car.
