Lin Streak Continues with Knicks Victory Over Timberwolves

By Tom Liddy | February 12, 2012 1:12pm

MANHATTAN — The fairy tale continues.

The Knicks' winning streak was upped to five Saturday night with a hard-fought win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on the road, propelled by another strong showing by breakout star point guard Jeremy Lin.

The Harvard grad put up 20 points and eight assists in the 100-98 victory, despite going 1-13 from the field in the second half.

"It was an ugly one, it was a gutsy one, it was a road win, everybody was tired," Lin said, according to the Associated Press. "That's the beauty of basketball. That's the beauty of our time. We never gave up."

LIn, who has scored 20 or more points in the last five games, put up 15 in the first half before cooling off in the second.

But coming off an Iman Shumpert jumper with less than 1:30 left to go, Lin fed the ball to Steve Novak, who sank a game-tying three-pointer.

Lin, who scored 38 against the Lakers Friday night, capped off his game by drawing a foul with seconds left to go and hitting a free throw.

The Knicks, who have been playing without superstar forwards Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire, have won five straight.
