MANHATTAN — Two people were killed and another two injured in an horrific head-on collision on the FDR Drive early Sunday morning, police said.

The three-car crash, which left the cars mangled wrecks, unfolded just before 3 a.m. near the highway's Houston Street exit.

Police said that a 26-year-old man driving a Nissan Maxima was traveling north on the southbound lanes when he careened head-on into a Dodge Caravan going in the opposite direction.

After the initial impact, a Mazda, driven by a 22-year-old woman, crashed into the van as well, according to cops.

The van's driver, a 52-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene as was the driver of the Maxima.

The woman driving the Mazda as well as her 31-year-old male passenger, were rushed to Bellevue Hospital where they were listed in stable condition.

The victims were not immediately identified pending family notification.
