BROOKLYN — There's no need to wait for next week's groundhog prediction — winter is already over.

Seasonal festival Winter Jam has been cancelled by the Parks Department because this year's big freeze never arrived.

The event, which introduces New Yorkers to winter sports, was planned for Prospect Park on Feb. 4. But organizers needed to be able to make snow.

"It is simply too warm to make snow," the Parks Department wrote on its website.

"The long-range weather forceasts and current ground temperature make it extremely unlikely that snow could be made."

The warm winter continued on Friday with temperatures almost reaching 60 degrees.
