Single Ladies Have Plenty of Choice, But a Good Man is Still Hard to Find

MANHATTAN — It's about the quality, not the quantity.

Manhattan's single ladies are saying a good man is still hard to find, despite new figures showing there are plenty dates to go around.

The city's Economic Development Corporation crunched census data and found there are 742,400 single men between 20 and 34,  compared to 729,500 women.

On the Upper East Side women outnumbered men by 2 to 1, but in other neighborhoods — such as Washington Heights — the opposite was true.

The ladies still aren't too excited about the figures.

"I'm 21, so I go to the bars a lot. But it's really hard to find a guy who wants a relationship," said Amira Boone, 21, of Roosevelt Island.

Available ladies outnumber lads in the Upper East Side and Murray Hill, while single dudes abound in Williamsburg, Astoria and on the Lower East Side.

"The city is so huge, there's men of every kind," Boone said. "Narrowing it down is definitely the hardest thing so far."
