MANHATTAN — A pedestrian was injured in an accident involving a cab on the Upper West Side Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

The woman was struck after a cab and another car collided on 97th Street and Broadway just after noon, the FDNY said.

The impact sent the cab careening into scaffolding, ripping off part of the front end.

"Bad accident at 97th and Broadway," tweeted @jilliannichols. "Taxi van with front end ripped off, torn apart coats laying on the sidewalk :-/"

The woman was taken to St. Luke's hospital with trauma, although her condition was not immediately known.

The cause of the accident was also not clear.

Chris Wisniewski, 26, who works for the company that maintained the scaffolding, said he was called to the scene to inspect the damage.

"We had to check one of the scaffolding posts as it was damaged in the impact," he said. "We had to replace one pole."
