MANHATTAN — Director Spike Lee is reportedly throwing a big-money bash for President Barack Obama, who is set to return to Manhattan for another whirlwind fundraising tour this month.

Page Six reported Wednesday that Lee will throw a fundraiser for the president with his wife, Tonya Lee Lewis, at their Upper East Side brownstone on Jan. 19. The 6 p.m. reception will be open to “no more than six tables and 60 people,” paying $38,500 per head, it said.

Lee, an enthusiastic supporter of the president in 2008, has at times butted heads with Obama, blasting him for his handling of the BP oil spill.

He's said he expects a tough battle to keep the White House.

"It’s going to be tough. It’s going to be a fight," he was quoted by the Hollywood Reporter saying.

Earlier in the day, Obama will be attending a reception with Jewish Leaders hosted by Dr. Daniel E. Fass and Alexandra Stanton at the restaurant Daniel on the Upper East Side, the paper said. Tickets for that event will reportedly cost $5,000 or $25,000 for a meet-and-greet, complete with candid photos.

The Democratic National Committee did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
