MANHATTAN — Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes strutted their stuff in color coordinated outfits on the red carpet of the U.S. premiere of "Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol" Monday night.
Cruise, 49, is the producer and star of the the latest thriller in the "Mission: Impossible" series. In the movie, his character IMF operative Ethan Hunt executes Spiderman-style stunts, while attempting to clear his agency's name after it is implicated in a terrorist attack, and also preventing another attack.
On the red carpet Monday, Cruise traded Ethan Hunt's harness and gloves for a dark suit and navy tie that matched Holmes' navy blue polka dot shift dress, a piece from her own line Holmes & Yang, created with stylist Jeanne Yang. She wore the dress with black sheer stockings and black heels during the event at the Ziegfeld Theater, located on 54th Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues.
Cruise didn't dare take credit for the matched ensemble, instead pointing to his designer wife.
"Whatever my wife wants me to wear, I wear," Cruise told reporters, according to USA Today. "She has exquisite taste."
The event drew a collection of other well-heeled ladies, including Queen Latifah and Paula Patton.
"The Usual Suspects" actor turned born-again Christian Stephen Baldwin also made an appearance, as did Geoff Stults, the hunk from the popular network television series "Bones."
Cruise and Holmes stole the show, however, when the megastar and Scientology advocate made one of his famous gushing remarks about his wife of five years, according to reports.
Her fashion sense wasn't the only thing the sappy superstar had to say about her.
"Every day I fall more in love with her," Cruise told PEOPLE at the New York premiere of the movie at the Ziegfeld Theater. "It's been quite an amazing five years because of her. She's an incredible woman. She's everything to me."
