MANHATTAN — Students at Stuyvesant High School are mourning the death of 17-year-old classmate Terence Tsao, who was killed in Brooklyn Friday night when a suspected drunk driver plowed into him just a block from his home.

Police arrested Vitali Korzavin, 46, in connection with the crash, which unfolded on Bay 37th Street and Cropsey Avenue in Bath Beach, just after 9:30 p.m. Friday. Korzavin was allegedly drunk when his Dodge minivan careened onto the pedestrian median where Tsao was waiting to cross the street, striking him before ramming into a traffic light.

Tsao was taken to Lutheran Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

"I really don't want to believe this," senior Jennifer Hwin wrote on Tumblr, where scores of students expressed their disbelief as news of Tsao's death spread.

Tsao was walking from Stuyvesant's Board Game Society to his parents' home a block from the scene of the crash, the Daily News reported.

The senior had worked as a docent at the New York City Aquarium, and had already received scholarships to several schools, his father Ting Man Tsao, told the paper.
