By Julie Shapiro | November 29, 2011 9:10am

OPENINGS:

T.J.Maxx opened a 22,200-square-foot store at 14 Wall St. on the morning of Nov. 17, as Occupy Wall Street protesters stormed the Financial District. A spokeswoman said the opening of the store went forward as planned, with an array of women's, men's and children's clothing, plus accessories and home decor items. The store offers an expanded inventory of tailored men's suits for the Wall Street crowd, with everything from ties to outerwear from Italian designers.

Artsee Eyewear launched its second Manhattan location on the ground floor of Goldman Sachs' headquarters at 220 Murray St. in Battery Park City. Owners Oleg Rabinovich and Julio Santiago opened the first Artsee in the Meatpacking District in 2003 to offer a creative selection of artistic eyeglasses made from unusual materials, including wood and reclaimed vinyl records, Tribeca Citizen reported. Their only other location is in Miami Beach.

Kutsher's Tribeca, a Jewish-American bistro, opened Nov. 21 at 186 Franklin St. Co-owner Zach Kutsher channels the cuisine his family served for decades at Kutsher's Hotel and Country Club in the Catskills, but with a playful and modern twist — as in the potato latkes topped with three varieties of caviar. Restaurateur Jeffrey Chodorow is also a co-owner of the 140-seat space, and executive chef Mark Spangenthal helms the kitchen.

Egg, Susan Salazar's line of baby and maternity clothing, has a holiday pop-up shop at 64 N. Moore St. through Dec. 22. Known for eco-friendly fabrics and simple designs, the brand's year-round location is located in DUMBO, Brooklyn.

Tribeca Taphouse, a new gastropub, has opened at 363 Greenwich St. The restaurant has more than 20 beers on tap, plus plenty of food to soak up the booze, including burgers topped with everything from smoked bacon to crunchy Asian slaw.

The former Pelea Mexicana space at 35 Sixth Ave. has reopened as AOA Bar & Grill, with 20 TVs showing sports games, 25 draft beers and 50 bottled beers, and several types of pizza and "sausage skillets."

CLOSINGS:

Picasso Pizzeria, 303 S. End Ave., shuttered on Nov. 18, the Broadsheet Daily reported. A restaurant employee told the publication that the pizza shop would be closed for about seven weeks for renovations, but Health Department records show that the eatery was shut down after racking up 66 violation points, for infractions including evidence of live mice and roaches.

Lemongrass Grill, the Thai restaurant at 84 William St., has closed, Midtown Lunch reported.
