EAST HARLEM — A 36-year-old woman whose throat was slashed was found dead in her apartment at 205 E. 120th St. Wednesday night, police said.

Police and EMS workers arrived at the apartment at 10:15 p.m. where they found the unconscious woman, whose identity was being withheld pending family notification.

Residents in the building said the woman had moved in about a year ago and that she seemed to keep to herself.

"It's odd living in a building where somebody just got murdered," said Cicely Black, 29, who lived in the building for three years. "It's sad."

The investigation is ongoing, police said, adding that the Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
