MANHATTAN — Jay-Z's got "99 Problems" and a t-shirt may be one.
A shirt that the megawatt rapper was hawking with an Occupy Wall Street theme has quietly disappeared from the website of his clothing line Rocawear.
Jay-Z was spotted wearing the "Occupy All Streets" t-shirt backstage at Madison Square Garden last Monday night while standing next to hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons, according a Nov. 8 posting on the Roc4Life blog, which is affiliated with the clothing line.
But when the company said that none of the proceeds would go to the anti-greed political movement, as reported by Gawker, the emcee landed in hot water.
On Saturday, a search for the t-shirt turned up nothing on the Rocawear site, as reported by the Wall Street Journal.
A cached version of the web page reveals details about the item including its $22 price tag. The description says that it drew "inspiration from the 'Watch the Throne' Concert Tour" and that it was on back order.
However, a search for the product in Google generates a page no longer exists.
On Saturday, Simmons defended Jay-Z via Twitter: "Everybody still talking about this photo of me and Jay-Z. I think what Jay did is great," he wrote.
Reps for Rocawear and Jay-Z did not immediately respond to requests for comment from DNAinfo.
