MIDTOWN — An elevator mechanic was shocked and suffered facial burns Friday while working in a Midtown office building, fire officials said.

The man, who was not identified, was working inside of 767 Third Ave. near 48th Street at approximately 10 a.m. Friday when he was hurt, fire officials said. He was conscious when he was taken to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, according to an FDNY spokesman.

The extent of his burns were not immediately available.
