Tommy Lasagna and New York Dog Nanny Open as Butler's Closes

By Mary Johnson | November 9, 2011 7:43pm

OPENINGS:

Italian eatery Tommy Lasagna opened in Gramercy at 119 E. 18th Street near Irving Place.

Hooters-style chain Canz a Citi Roadhouse opened a new location in Murray Hill at 380 Third Avenue, between East 27th and East 28th streets. Neighbors said they were surprised by the new restaurant opening as it was not cleared by the State Liquor Authority or Community Board 6 before opening.

Schnipper’s Quality Kitchen, a well-known burger joint with a location in Times Square, opened in the Flatiron district at 23 E. 23rd Street, near Madison Square Park.

Cubby, a baggage storage business for tourists, opened a pop-up store on Park Avenue near East 23rd Street. The store itself is small, about 300 square feet, and temporary. Cubby is technically a pop-up shop right now, but the owners are looking for more funding to find a permanent home.

New York Dog Nanny, a dog day care in Murray Hill, opened at 126 Lexington Avenue, between East 28th and 29th streets.

CLOSINGS:

Butler's, a comfort food restaurant at 948 First Avenue in Turtle Bay, closed recently. The storefront remains vacant.
