FDNY Respond to Fire at Main Post Office

The FDNY responded to a fire in the James A. Farley Post Office loading dock on Oct. 17, 2011.

MIDTOWN — The fire department responded to a call about a fire in one of the loading docks at the James A. Farley Post Office early Monday morning.

The FDNY got a call at 3:23 a.m. about a fire in a loading dock at 9th Avenue and 29th Street, fire officials said.  It was under control by 3:50 a.m.

The cause of the fire is still unclear, the fire department said, and they are investigating to see if there was any damage to the main post office building.
