MIDTOWN — The MTA’s vintage “Nostalgia Special” subway train is coming out to cheer on the Bronx Bombers for their playoff kick-off Friday night.

The fully-restored, four-car train is scheduled to leave the 42nd Street-Grand Central station at 7:15 p.m. tonight.

The train will travel uptown on the 4-line, making stops at 59th Street, 86th Street, 125th Street, 138th/Grand Concourse Street, 149th/Grand Concourse and 161st Street/Yankee Stadium.

The train is also expected to run Saturday night at 7:15 p.m. and will be dispatched again if there’s a game 5, and for any future rounds in their bid for their 28th title  — a recent tradition by the MTA.

The cars, which were originally operated by the Interborough Rapid Transit system, entered service in 1917 and worked into the early 1960s, MTA Spokesman Kevin Ortiz said.

The train has been logging a lot of mileage recently, running every weekend this month as part of a promotion for the new HBO series, "Boardwalk Empire."
