GREENWICH VILLAGE – Good-bye Golden Arches, hello burritos.

The McDonald's on Sixth Avenue near West 8th Street that closed in mid-August will be replaced by a Chipotle, city records show.

The Department of Buildings approved a sign permit for the burrito slinger on Aug. 25, according to the city's website. The space's landlord, Adam Smith, confirmed Monday that the restaurant was on the way for the 405 Sixth Ave. space.

A liquor license application for the restaurant is pending, according to the State Liquor Authority's website.

Chipotle did not return requests for comment on when the restaurant was scheduled to open.

McDonald's was once an investor in Chipotle but divested from the company in 2006, according to Chipotle's website
