Stars Light up Midtown For Fashion's Night Out

MIDTOWN — Combine fabulous clothing, Grammy winners and the chance to mingle with some of the city’s most in-demand designers and you have Fashion’s Night Out.

The annual city-wide party, kicking off Fashion Week, rollis into Midtown Thursday night with numerous events to choose from.

Here’s a listing of some of the most tempting:

Macy’s:

Macy’s Herald Square will be going all-out for Fashion’s Night Out with a host of celebrities, including Tommy Hilfiger, Grammy Award-winning artist Joss Stone, supermodels Coco Rocha and Karolina Kurkova, world-renowned make-up artist Bobbi Brown and basketball star Amar’e Stoudemire.

The festivities will kick off with red carpet arrivals at 5 p.m., with events starting shortly after.

At 5:30 p.m., first girlfriend and Semi-Homemade Cooking lifestyle guru Sandra Lee will be hosting a book signing on the 8th floor, while the cast of Broadway's CHICAGO performs on the 2nd floor.

At 6 p.m, Stoudemire will be on hand to shoot hoops on the 2nd floor, while D.J. Samantha Ronson will be rocking out on the 6th floor to celebrate the launch of Gucci Guilty for Men.

At 6:30 p.m. America's Next Top Model's Miss J Alexander will be hosting a shoe party on the 5th floor, complete with lessons on runway walking.

Stone will be performing in the Broadway plaza at 7 p.m.

Times Square:

The area’s burgeoning retail scene is embracing Fashion’s Night Out with open arms, with numerous deals, giveaways and celebrity meet-and-greets.

Inglot (1592 Broadway) will be offering complimentary “Mini Red Carpet” makeovers, mocktails and hors d'oeuvres, and Fossil (1585 Broadway) will be offering sweets courtesy of The Treats Truck.

Over at Billabong (1515 Broadway), fans can meet pro snowboarder Eero Niemela, who’ll be signing autographs from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Kate Walsh will be at the Sephora at 1500 Broadway and Kristin Bauer will be at the 5 Times Square location, which will also feature a musical performance by Kat Von D and Linda Perry.

Over at the W Times Square (1567 Broadway), Vogue Photography Director Ivan Shaw will be opening a new photo exhibition celebrating the work of former Dutch model turned fashion photographer Annemarieke van Drimmelen. The event will also feature a pop-up shop with products from designers George Esquivel and Juan Carlos Obando.

In addition, shoppers who check in via Foursquare or take pictures of themselves inside five or more participating stores will be eligible to enter a contest for a $1,000 shopping spree courtesy of the Times Square Alliance. Entrants must stop by the Alliance’s tent on Broadway between 43rd and 44th streets before 11:15 p.m. to register.

Rockefeller Center:

Rockefeller Center will be kicking off its festivities at 6 p.m.

The evening will feature musical performances by several New York-based bands, including the White Rabbits, Bear Hands, Lissy Trullie and D.J. Keiichiro as well as live fashion presentations from Faconnable, Tous, Cole Haan, Anne Fontaine, Coach and Nine West, among others.

There will also be in-store events and discounts at numerous local shops and restaurants, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art Store, AJ Maxwell's Steakhouse, Movado, Pylones, Magnolia Bakery and Bill's Bar and Burger.
